.NET community is pretty massive, not in the least due to the support of the software world’s goliath, Microsoft. If you want to connect with .NET developers to learn, hire, get hired, or any other reason, a big .NET conference is the place to be.
Luckily, there are quite a lot of great .NET events organized by Microsoft as well as independent enthusiasts. Here’s a list of 5 .NET conferences you can’t miss this year:
Formerly known as the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, the newly named event offers a week packed full of networking, learning and collaboration for current Microsoft partners, as well as those interested in building a partnership with the tech giant. At Microsoft Inspire, you’ll hear the latest insights from top Microsoft leaders, meet fellow Microsoft partners, and get plenty of opportunities for face-to-face conversations with industry’s trendsetters. Simply put, there’s no other event that offers the same quality of Microsoft partner experience that Microsoft Inspire does.
When: July 9-13, 2017.
Where: Washington, D.C.
How much: for a limited time, All Access passes are available for $1,695. No information on other types of passes is available yet.
This year, VSLive! is going on a campaign for code starting in March and ending in November. The campaign will feature 7 events, all held in different cities throughout the US. The nearest one will take place in March in Las Vegas, where software developers will get the opportunity to hone their skills in ASP.NET, Visual Studio, Database Analytics, and other technologies.
When: March 13-17, 2017.
Where: Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, NV, USA.
How much: early bird packages from $1,995 (the early bird offer ends on January 20, hurry up!); student/educator discounts available.
Build is a major .NET event organized by Microsoft. This year’s program hasn't been announced yet, but the organizers promise to fill the schedule with solid content and do their best to add plenty of surprises along the way. Make sure to put Build in your .NET event list, as this conference is always jammed with strong .NET sessions and opportunities to meet and learn from the industry’s best. When: May 10-12, 2017.
Where: Seattle, WA, USA.

DEVintersection will bring you your favorite industry experts including Microsoft Executive VP, Scott Guthrie. This exciting week-long conference will feature in-depth sessions and workshops on ASP.NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Azure, and loads of other tech. DEVintersection Europe, which took place on November 14-16, 2016 in Haarlem (Amsterdam), is another annual event to look forward to, though there's no information on the location and the date for 2017 yet.
When: May 21-24, 2017.
Where: Walt Disney World Swan, Lake Buena Vista, FL, USA.
How much: various early bird package options range from $1,599 to $2,796 (the early bird giveaway expires on February 4).
Formerly known as TechEd, this conference is where big thinkers of the IT industry flock to connect with tech leaders and peers, get their hands on the newest product innovations from Microsoft and its partners, and get some hands-on experience on the technologies they use. This 5-day event includes 700+ sessions, multiple product demos, 100+ vendors, and even one-on-one discussions with industry experts. Azure, SQL Server, Visual Studio and Windows are only a few of Microsoft products that will be featured during the conference.
When: September 25–29, 2017.
Where: Orlando, FL, USA.
How much: no information on pricing yet, sign up to get email updates on Microsoft Ignite.
This year, IT/DEV Connections offers 5 technology tracks, 190 sessions, and full-day workshops. You’ll also get a chance to interact with peers and pick the brains of industry leaders on your toughest .NET dilemmas. Last year's conference featured sessions on Windows Server 2016, Azure and Azure Services, Visual Studio, SharePoint, and many other topics.
When: October 23-26, 2017.
Where: San Francisco, CA, USA.
How much: Essential and All Access packages for $1299 and $2099 respectively (early bird offer is going on through June 16); group and academic/government discounts available.
